What...July is halfway over!!!

AND this is my first post of the month!! EEK! Well...I do have a few good excuses!

D and I were at camp all last week in Glorieta, NM. WOW...did we have an amazing time. Of course, there were some challenges and I think all of the adults were pretty emotionally exhausted when we got back home on Saturday. I have a TON of pics...I will post some in my next post. I'm not posting anything this time...just really not in the mood.

On the way up to camp, I rec'd a text from a friend that a mutual friend had lost his mother to cancer. I tried not to let if effect me too much...but having lost my mother to the same disease over two years ago...it did make me sad. I still haven't contacted him...I just pray that he is doing well...coping as best as he can. Our bus also started over-heating about 45 miles outside of Glorieta. The two vans that were with us went ahead to register our group and it took us about 2 hours to make the rest of the trip. Sooo...that was the first day...or should I say half of our first day. During the week we had 2 trips to the emergency room...one for an almost broken collar bone and the other for a dislocated knee cap. There were several other injuries/issues, but of course God moved insanely in all of our lives.

Now on the way home, about an hour out...we rec'd a phone call that someone had busted out a window in our car...which was parked at the church. D's golf clubs and GPS were in it...among other misc. things. D was VERY distraught that last 45 minutes of the trip. He made the comment to me that it had taken over 5 years to get the perfect set of golfclubs and there was no way they could be replaced...I just started praying for him. I knew his heart would be BROKEN if they were gone. So we park...he heads to the truck, I head the other direction. Luckily, nothing was missing. I guess it was just some bored kids. We took it in Monday morning and it was ready by noon...$215 later...and we just really didn't let it ruin our days. It could have been worse...so much worse! We felt blessed despite the little bump :)

AND it has been NON-STOP since we got home...church functions, ultimate frisbee, Rock Band at our house, hanging/eating with friends, playing cards, working a little at LW, halping make posters...and much MORE! But we have had soo much fun. I don't know if I'm ready for summer to end anytime soon!

We did get some EXCELLENT news yesterday...B is officially potty trained. He and C have been at their NaNa's while we were gone (and are still there), and we asked her if she would start the process for us...He went from 15 accidents on the first day to none now!! He just goes in the bathroom all by himself and potties. I'm so totally stoked! I can't wait to see him and C and Remi (the dog)...I'm missin'em somethin' terrible!!!

Well...I will post some more exciting things...pics, etc...later this week!
Good night!
Ember

I am so sorry to hear about your friend losing his mom to cancer, my prayers will be with you so that you may be a strength and outlet for him. Thanks be to God that the best possible situation came out of the "broken window", how scary and awful, glad it worked out okay. So glad you are home safely my friend, missed you!!!

aye aye aye girl - when it rains it pours huh? so so cruddy but at least it seemed to all have good results in the end. My heart goes out to your friend who just lost his mom. What a tragedy. Glad you are home back to your usual chaotic schedule and glad y'all had a good time. I am going to send you an email with my cell # since I am going to be in Amarillo the 22nd - 25th of July. We need to meet up for lunch or something if you feel like making a drive in. hugs to ya girly!

I know I checked the other day and there was nothing. I was going to email you to see where you were. Glad nothing was stollen from the car. Sorry about your friend. So happy for the little one, I hear that potty training is a big deal.
Nothing much here. Going to a stamp show tomorrow...I hope they have nothing that I need!!
